In January 2009, our friend, Sarah suggested a wife-husband collaboration, in which Hannah takes a photograph, and I write a story based on it. Hence, “A Thousand Words” was born.

From February 2009 to January 2010, on the tenth of each month, we published a story exactly one thousand words in length, inspired by an image.

Based on the positive response, and our desire to collaborate again, we resurrected the project for 2014 – now called the 1K Project. This time around, Hannah is curating the photographs with contributions from some of our favorite artists around the world. David will continue to pen a thousand-word story for publication on the 10th of each month.

Hannah is a wife, mother, environmental field coordinator and professional photographer, who is also incredible in the kitchen and keeping everyone in her family from spinning off into the stratosphere.

David | Twitter | is an entertainment development executive and philanthropist, who writes screenplays and collaborates with writers and filmmakers to create moving stories. He works from home and keeps the kids from bringing the house in on itself.

They enjoy their Southern California existence with three wonderful kids and one endearingly dumb dog.
